Mehrangarh Museum Trust has collaborated with the Tata Trusts to undertake a four-year project under the Tata Trusts Art Conservation Initiative (ACI) that proposes to establish, develop and strengthen art conservation centres in five zonal centres across India, and create a cohort of trained conservators.
The ACI programs main goals are in establishing conservation around the country in a simultaneous thrust through five anchor centres, the establishment of a cadre of thorough professionals through training at workshops and through an educational model.
Under this Art Conservation Initiative, a 10-days training course on conservation of Wall painting-1 will be organized at Mehrangarh Fort from April 8th, 2020- April 18th, 2020. The main motive of this training course is to make each participant able to identify the deterioration factors and phenomena, materials and techniques involved in wall painting and also how different instruments and materials can be employed for their documentation and conservation.
